Hey, Kansas Citians! The Casserole Party is coming to your town. Attended and loved by many, and featured in the The New York Times’ Urban Eye, New York Sun, the New York Post, Time Out New York, Gawker.com and Nerve.com, the Casserole Party is an annual casserole competition (and excuse to over indulge in baked deliciousness) organized and hosted by Emily Farris (that’s me!), author of “Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff for Your Oven” (Penguin, 2008).
It will happen Monday, November 16 at 6 p.m. at Pryde’s Old Westport. Details regarding registration and attendance to come soon.

Last night a Greenpoint coffee shop was transformed from a hipster hangout to a still-sort-of-hipstery-but-more-Midwestern cheesy wonderland for the Fifth Annual Casserole Party. There was duck, there was fish, there was pork, there were noodles and potatoes, and as usual, there was lots and lots and lots of cheese.

Hey, you casserole lover. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your interest in the Fifth Annual Casserole Party happening tonight at Brooklyn Label, but I have some bad news for you: it’s not an open event. To get through the doors you either must be a close personal friend of mine, a member of the press or (here’s the good news) bake your own casserole and compete. But you still have hours to accomplish this. So get out your tuna and your noodles and bake what your mama gave you. But don’t forget to register first. Oh, and read the rules & regulations; I’m pretty strict.

Due to a few cancelations (weak sauce!) a few spots remain for the Fifth Annual Casserole Party happening this Tuesday at Brooklyn Label in Greenpoint. If you’d like to show me your cheese, read the rules and regulations and register now. And if you registered and have not yet recieved a confirmation email (it happens, I’m sometimes unorganized) email me.

My book, my book!
Late last night I realized that yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the pub date of my cookbook, “Casserole Crazy: Hot Stuff for Your Oven.” I can’t believe it’s been an entire year, but it presents the perfect opportunity to remind you that if you don’t yet have a copy now is the perfect time to get one. Not only is it full of easy, delicious casserole recipes—many of which can be made on the super cheap—I’ve been told it’s pretty damn funny.
So go here (or better yet, walk your sweet ass to your local independent bookstore) and get a copy… or two; it’s a great gift.
