Fifth Annual Casserole Party Winners

21 Oct

Emfar 026

Last night a Greenpoint coffee shop was transformed from a hipster hangout to a still-sort-of-hipstery-but-more-Midwestern cheesy wonderland for the Fifth Annual Casserole Party. There was duck, there was fish, there was pork, there were noodles and potatoes, and as usual, there was lots and lots and lots of cheese.

If You Just Got Here Via the NY Times’ Urban Eye: Read This

20 Oct

Hey, you casserole lover. Thanks for visiting my blog and for your interest in the Fifth Annual Casserole Party happening tonight at Brooklyn Label, but I have some bad news for you: it’s not an open event. To get through the doors you either must be a close personal friend of mine, a member of the press or (here’s the good news) bake your own casserole and compete. But you still have hours to accomplish this. So get out your tuna and your noodles and bake what your mama gave you. But don’t forget to register first. Oh, and read the rules & regulations; I’m pretty strict.

All Day I Dream About Le Creuset

le creuset

This is the grand prize for the Fourth Annual Casserole Party. Mind you, I don’t actually own one. I just cooed over this one at the Brooklyn Kitchen tonight. Yet again, you’ll have one and I won’t. Why, oh why, does the cookie crumble so?

Register for the Fourth Annual Casserole Party

There’s a chill in the air and the economy sucks. It’s time for a casserole or 30.

The Casserole Party is an annual casserole competition, organized and hosted by “Casserole Crazy” author Emily Farris. A platform for Midwesterners (or anyone) to show off a hearty and comforting dish from childhood, it’s also it’s an excuse to over-indulge in baked delicousness.

The Fourth Casserole Party will be held Monday, November 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Label at 180 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
